Thank you. That is exactly how I feel. I am paralyzed. I can barely do or think of anything else. And if Harris wins, there will be chaos. If she loses, God forbid, there will be chaos for the next four years and maybe beyond. At 81 everything I have worked my entire life FOR, is at stake. Thank you for speaking up through your writing. Penny, I know. I'm not so worried about election chaos - and Robert Hubbell, as usual, goes a long way toward calming that fear here: https://roberthubbell.substack.com/p/the-not-so-secret-plan. Obviously we have a long haul ahead of cleaning up the mess Trump has made, the hatred and chaos he's unleashed. But at 81 you need to rest and let other people do the heavy lifting! Young people are engaged for Kamala. We'll build on that in the future. It would never look this close if we had one-person, one-vote, and he just torpedoed himself with a significant population in Pennsylvania.
Thank you! I completely relate to your post. It astounds me that we are here - again. The country is imploding and there doesn't seem to be a way to stop it. I find it especially difficult to concentrate this week. Thank you for saying what many of us are feeling.
Barbara, there are lots of good signs, and I have to believe. It will take a huge lot of rethinking and rebuilding, but let's get to the finish line of this race first. Stay strong and take care of yourself.
If you are paralyzed with anxiety over this election you should seek medical attention. You are way too caught up in the rhetoric and that is extremely unhealthy. Regardless of which candidate wins your life's outcome is up to you. Turn off the TV and get back to your creative self.
Bob, you don't know me, and you apparently didn't even read this post that you're jumping in to comment on. I specifically said, up front, "I’m not using the election as an excuse not to write. I do my pages on the new book in the morning. It’s not just the professional thing to do - it’s as life affirming as daily meditation or yoga."
Now, I could say that if you are NOT anxious about the outcome and ramifications of the election you are delusional and should seek psychiatric help - but I would never do that because I'm not a psychiatrist and I don't know you.
If you're not worried, great. But it's not being "caught up in rhetoric" to be deeply concerned that a toxic, malignant and clearly deteriorating convicted criminal is this close to taking the highest office in this country - again.

Amen, sister!

You take care of yourself, too.
